The 49ers snapped a five-game losing streak with a 15-10 victory over the punchless Bucs. Joe Nedney kicked five field goals, including a 28-yarder with 1:56 to play on the first scoring drive ever led by former fourth-string quarterback Cody Pickett.
Pickett emerged as an improbable hero for the 49ers, performing well in the final 11 minutes while Ken Dorsey and Alex Smith were out with injuries.
CARDINALS at COWBOYS: With rookie Marion Barber running for 127 yards and two touchdowns on 27 carries in his first start and new Canadian kicker Shaun Suisham of Wallaceburg, Ont., making two short field goals, Dallas rolled over Arizona 34-13.
EAGLES at BRONCOS: Todd Devoe caught a 43-yard TD pass from Jake Plummer and Tatum Bell ran for two scores in the fourth quarter as Denver, after appearing it might blow a 28-0 lead, cruised to a 49-21 triumph over Philadelphia.
CHIEFS at CHARGERS: Drew Brees threw three TD passes to Antonio Gates and finished with 324 yards passing as San Diego beat Kansas City 28-20.
LaDainian Tomlinson, slowed again on the ground, threw his third TD pass of the season, a 17-yarder to Eric Parker.
BROWNS at TEXANS: Houston is winless no more. The Texans managed to eke out an ugly 19-16 win over Cleveland when Kris Brown kicked a 40-yard field goal, his fourth of the day, with 2:45 remaining
REDSKINS at GIANTS: Tiki Barber ran for a career-high 206 yards and a touchdown and the New York Giants held Washington to 34 yards from scrimmage in the first half as they rolled to a 36-0 rout.
BEARS at LIONS: Jeff Garcia's across-the-body pass was picked off by Charles Tillman and returned 22 yards for a touchdown in overtime, Chicago atop the NFC North with a 19-13 win over Detroit.
RAIDERS at TITANS: Oakland QB Kerry Collins threw for three TDs and the Raiders beat Tennessee 34-25 for their third victory in the last four games.
PACKERS at BENGALS: Brett Favre's game-ending drive fell just short, enabling Cincinnati to hang on for a 21-14 win over Green Bay.
JAGUARS at RAMS: Steven Jackson had 179 yards on 25 carries and scored the winning touchdown, Mike Furrey's 37-yard interception return led to the go-ahead score and St. Louis stuffed Jacksonville's attack most of the second half in a 24-21 victory.
VIKINGS at PANTHERS: Carolina finally put together a complete game, blowing out punchless Minnesota 38-13 to keep the Vikings winless on the road.
DOLPHINS at SAINTS: Gus Frerotte tossed a TD pass to Chris Chambers and the Miami defence recorded a safety in a 21-6 victory over New Orleans at Baton Rouge, La.
